Because they have been great friends for a long time. They love to be with each other and they say they understand each other and support each other. Selena says that she’s not ready for a really serious relationship but I guess Justin Bieber is a good start.

She could do better? Really? Like who? Justin Bieber is the hottest teen pop sensation right now and who knows if she really even likes him or if she is just using him to get attention. Yes Selena Gomez is pretty but who do you expect her to date. They dated because they like each other, they have tons in common, and most of all they make each other happy. If they are happy together you should be happy for them. Its not like they are marrying each other so I don’t even understand why this matters so much to you.
