A representative for Justin Bieber has dismissed reports the teen star left fans at a school in New York waiting for an hour after he ordered his driver to stop at McDonalds for breakfast.

The Baby hitmaker was due to attend an early morning press conference at Long Beach Middle School in Long Beach, New York last Friday, before taking the stage for a performance in front of students.

But reports suggest the 16 year old left an auditorium full of young fans waiting for over an hour after he asked his chauffeur to make a diversion to a branch of the fast food chain so he could pick up a snack.

Beiber’s publicist, Melissa Victor, has denied the singer was late for the event, and Bieber later addressed false rumours in a post on his Twitter.com page. He writes, “It’s funny when I read things about myself that are just not true. Why would certain people take time out of their day to hate on a 16 year old? I have an idea for those people….let’s all be supportive of each other and proud of one another and hope for the best for your neighbour.”
